Lapis Lazuli has been prized throughout history for its metaphysical properties. It was used to by the Kings and Queens of ancient Egypt, adorned the breastplate of the high priests of Israel and has been treasured by royalty all over the world.

It is powerfully protective of the mind and is considered a stone of initiation for the third eye and expanded awareness. It has an energy that does not bend to meet you, you must rise to meet it. Once you do, Lapis assists in pointing our where our thoughts and mental body is out of balance or "not in the now". It offers assistance in unifying thought patterns and guiding them into expression. It is a stone of vision and can greatly assist in meditation, creative visualization and other imaginary functions of the mind.

It has a cubic crystal structure, so at it's very base level it is a cube or square, what is typically used in foundation, as well as the symbol for the base or root chakra. This is a stone to build and expand your spiritual practice with a firm and balanced foundation.

The Merkaba is also known as the star tetrahedron. It is formed from when two opposite facing triangles intersect. "Mer" means Light. "Ka" means Spirit. "Ba" means Body. Mer-Ka-Ba means the spirit/body surrounded by counter-rotating fields of light, (wheels within wheels), spirals of energy as in DNA, which transports spirit/body from one dimension to another. This is the symbol of our light body or our personal energy field that extends beyond and through the physical body.
